    News from Gazza

    3,573,426 Live Listings
Welcome to the eBid June Newsletter.

The end of June has arrived and we have finally finished work on our new and improved website. We are excited to let you all loose on it, we expect many comments, some good, some indifferent, some negative but they are all part and parcel of any significant change. The main dynamics of the new site will be pretty similar to the last but we've tweaked, prodded, discarded, moved, stretched, shrunk, hidden or shaved just about every part of the site to bring its look and feel up to date when compared to the current incarnation.

Those who love our green and purple colours at the moment will be disappointed I can tell you. The launch date will be 10th July. June was on the cards after many hundreds of hours in the past month alone but this was put paid to by us requiring to "square" off our millions of photos. So if you notice your photos on your listings growing white borders over the next couple of days, don't worry, it's us jigging things around in the background.

New additions to the site have been pretty sparse over the last 6 months due to the complete focus we have had working on the redesign. Once the new site is up and running we will once again be able to place our focus on adding new functionality to the site, including the much requested product variations and also an in-built importer of listings from other sites. Stay tuned for news on that.

We have a few other changes up our sleeve in the next couple of months including moving away from our subdomain system and running everything under the www domain /

    Keeping it mobile ...
As many of you will remember, our first mobile application was launched at the beginning of last year. In the intervening period we have added notifications and lots of other handy features. Our "techies" are constantly working behind the scenes to bring improvements and modifications to the App. We are currently working on version 2 of our mobile app on Android and iOS which will offer a smoother and more efficient experience on both Apple and (more especially) Android devices.

Not yet using the eBid app – what are you waiting for? Just visit the Apple App Store, or for android users, download the current v1.16 Android app at Google Play Store.

Because “fair is only fair” – the importance of feedback for both buyers AND sellers
At eBid we recognise the importance of a fair feedback system for both buyers AND sellers. We think it is unfair to only allow buyers to leave accurate (in some cases that will mean neutral or negative) feedback and have always allowed sellers the same rights and privileges when it comes to leaving feedback on a transaction.

The vast majority of transactions are completed without a hitch but in the unlikely event that your item does not arrive, what are your options as a buyer? Or if you are a seller and have not received payment for an item, what are your options? There could be any number of reasonable explanations for delays in either payment or delivery - the seller may not be aware that the item has not been received, or the buyer may simply have forgotten to make payment. COMMUNICATION is the key here and we would always advise both buyers and sellers to try to resolve any difficulties amicably before leaving neutral or negative feedback. So your first choice should be to ask the counter-party what is happening. This is often all that is needed to resolve the matter. Just click on the listing link, this will take you to the After Sale Log (ASL). Select the dropdown menu in the ASL to view your available options, including the all-important “ask a question”.
