A very Rare and collectable Pair of Large 237 year old Antique solid silver Irish BASTING, GRAVY or STUFFING spoon by JAMES KEATING of Dublin, Ireland registered from 1785 to 1792.
These very large solid silver BASTING, GRAVY or STUFFING SPOON's measure 11.75 inches/29.5cm long and weighs 169gms combined, they are of the Old English design with a Celtic point handle's, they have a crest to the handle's, a crown over the letter H or JC in script, please see pictures to decipher for your self, The Makers marks are clear but the other marks are rubbed under a glass you can see the crown over the harp and the head of the Hibernia..
For spoon's of 237 years old they are in very good Antique condition, overall general wear, surface scratches commensurate with age.
IRISH silver is one of the most sort after and collectable, and these are a very good example, BASTING spoon's that are a full 11.75 inches long, good gauge of silver, no splits, breaks or repairs.
