My name is Jacqui Day (although I am usually Jack) and I began creating fantasy art dolls at the beginning of 2004 after discovering the world of one of a kind sculpting on the internet. Inspiration is fired by myth, legend and stories, plus all forms of fantasy art, from novels and poetry to paintings and film. The tales of King Arthur and Celtic mythology also enthralled me as a child and this developed into a passion for Pre-Raphaelite art as I grew older - all still provide endless fodder for twitchy sculpting fingers nowadays. I am now exploring more contemporary themes too, which I hope will facilitate some thought-provoking and humerous creations. I am delighted to have two sculpts on permanent display in the Orkney Faerie Museum & Gallery ('Norse Warrior Fae' and 'Selkie'). I was also pertty darn chuffed when my sculpt 'Munchausen Goes To The Moon' won 1st place in the British Miniature Dollmakers' Doll of Month award for June 2008. Sculpting has now extended to making polymer glay feature beads, at the moment usually in Green Man or Goddess themes.
My jewellery making dabbling began about eight years ago under the auspices of WitchEver Oak, creating one of a kind pieces inspired by nature, the elements and seasons. WitchEver Oak has had stalls at several Witchfest events andI hope to continue playing with pretty glass beads here on eBid too!
