I love children, nature, wildlife, animals and my hobby is jewellery and antiques.
I am very much a family person, and love spending time with my family. I enjoy cooking, and we as a family grow our own fruit and vegetables, and we also keep chickens and bees, so we can have my own supply of fresh free-range eggs and organically produced honey.
I am not a jeweller by profession, I have enjoyed collecting jewellery and antiques for many years.
I consider jewellery as pieces of art, and it is the artistic aspect which I enjoy the most.
Every generation and period of history is reflected in the design of jewellery, and very often a piece of jewellery
captures the imagination and spirit of that generation and period of history.
This is why I love antiques, because every piece of antique art has its own unique character.
Like a time-capsule, it takes us back to the period when it was made and used by the peoples of the time.
Similarly, modern jewellery is a reflection of our own times and modern world, and its developments and advances.
I believe that a piece of jewellery is very often a statement about the personality of the individual to the world around him.
I believe that there are no bad designs, and instead that every design has its own beauty to the eye of the individual beholder.
For me, collecting jewellery is the same as collecting works of fine art, and I love all my pieces.
I may have my favourites, but every piece has its own beauty and character.
The only criterion on which I do not compromise is the quality of the item.
I distinguish between quality and design, as I believe that design reflects the idea,
the spirit and imagination of the designer, while the quality reflects the skill of the craftsman.
A beautiful design can be executed with poor quailty of workmanship.
So I believe that ideally that design and quality should go hand in hand.
This combination of great design and high quality craftsmanship, can produce amazing and stunning pieces of jewellery and art.
Nowadays, there is a tendency to produce high volume of goods, at the expense of quality.
Such jewellery does not last, and I believe that it is better to pay more for one item of high quality, than pay less for many items of lesser quality.
