Some Information About myhobbybox

Giving you a little more insight into the seller.

Hello to all.  Welcome to my store called Etceteras where I have a selection of craft items including craft books and various crafting materials to choose from. I will gradually be reducing my carefully stored but unused hoard - I really do need the space - and offering it on eBid.

I used to enjoy the occasional buying and selling as a hobby elsewhere and had 100% feedback on both accounts, but it is no longer what it used to be and I have moved away now.  Ebid makes a very refreshing change and the forums here are a great source of information and are very friendly and helpful.

Please take a little time to note the following:

~~~~~~
Payment for purchases: Please pay within 7 days of auction end.
Payment Methods: Personal cheques, crossed postal orders, unused Royal Mail postage stamps are very welcome for low value items, they are as good as cash and come in useful.  PPPay instant payment and Moneybookers is also offered.
Bank transfer (BACS) is available if required.
PPPay offer an escrow service which protects both the buyer's payment and the seller's goods.  PPPay Escrow is preferable to the protection that is currently on offer from PayPal. Both PPPay and Moneybookers are regulated by the FSA, but PayPal, which is registered in Luxembourg, and owned by eBay, is not answerable to the FSA.
Using PPPay instant payment: To avoid delays, buyers wishing to use this method of payment should already have registered with PPPay and have had their payment card verified before bidding.
PPPay charges: £0.49p to pay by card. Balance transfers between PPPay registered users is free. To avoid the charge, it might be better to lodge the  funds in your PPPay account first and then make the transfer for the purchase.
Using Moneybookers: As with PPPay, to avoid delays, buyers wishing to use this method of payment should already have registered with Moneybookers and have had their address and payment card verified. Verification in this case is then sent to the postal address registered with them which may take a few days to arrive. As these procedures for verification do take more time than for PPPay, this should be allowed for beforehand. Funds should then be uploaded from your bank account to your Moneybookers account to enable online payments to be made.
Moneybookers charges: 1% or up to a maximum of £0.40p to send money to anyone with an e-mail address. Unlike PPPay, there are no free balance transfers between Moneybookers accounts.
Using PayPal: This method of payment is familiar to many who buy and sell online, I can only accept instant transfers from buyers' PayPal account balances into my personal PayPal account.  Due to PayPal's high charges, I do not maintain a business account with them and therefore will be unable to accept any card payments through PayPal.
Postage and Packing: To keep costs as low as possible, I send by Royal Mail 2nd class - actual postage cost - plus a small additional charge for a jiffy bag where appropriate.  It may be possible to combine more than one item in the package for the same postage cost.
Recorded Signed for:  Royal Mail charges a premium for this service but it can be unreliable as such post can go missing before being logged as Recorded signed for and therefore becomes untraceable.  Compensation for loss is limited to £36.
Special Delivery: This is the only reliable, if expensive, method of ensuring safe receipt of valuable items.  Compensation for loss starts at £500 rising to a maximum of £2,500. There is more information on the Royal Mail website.
Just for the moment I am limiting my sales to the UK.
I will be happy to answer any questions, just ask.
