Some Information About lilacretriever

Giving you a little more insight into the seller.
I've always loved various crafts & my hobbies. I find great pleasure in collecting & learning all about them, which gives me great relief from my salaried job. But my enthusiasm often leaves me with excess-which are listed at BARGAIN prices compared to shops & garden centres.
I used to successfully list on 'another auction site'. So please don't be put off by my low rating here.

At the moment I have way too many seeds & plants to use & care for, so aim to list my spares. I have become fascinated with growing & increasing herbaceous perennials & some shrubs from seed & cuttings myself. I also collect my own perennial seeds. I have acquired some unusual plants. Most of the plants I grow are easy to care for & will require little attention once established. Especially if planted where recommended.

Please feel free to email any questions or have any requests.
I am happy to combine postage for items paid for together-just let me know & I can work out postage according to combined weight, which works out cheaper. UNITED KINGDOM ONLY.

As well as the listed payment methods I am also happy to accept direct bank transfer-usually free to both parties. Thanks for looking. Please feel free to check out my other items- as I get time to get them listed.

I try to answer queries & post as soon as possible after payment has cleared, but this has to be around my commitments. I use recycled boxes/items for packaging to cut on costs. I have tried numerous ways with posting- but have found the following succesfull & keeps weight to a minimum. I send without pots, roots in plastic bag(or whole plant if small). They are then packed tight into a box to avoid movement & permanent damage. I always post first class early in the week & early in the day to avoid excess time in post. Plants may be a bit squashed on unpacking- but once planted, watered & any damaged material removed- they will soon recover.

Basic growing advice
Small plants can either be 'grown on' a bit in pots & planted out later in the year or next spring or planted straight into garden, others can be planted straiught into the garden. Will need watering once planted & if very dry during first year-but will then look after themselves & come back every year if happy. If you like a tidy garden, just cut back all dead growth in autumn or spring. Also with a lott of perennials-once the main flush of flowering is finished cut off flower stalks to prevent seed & you may get more flowers.

The seeds I have also found very easy with no special treatment- some I just scatter in the garden-just have to be careful not to remove little plants thinking they are weeds! Most perennial seeds can be sown in mid to late summer or through spring. Some do better sown before the winter.
All my seeds I grow in multipurpose compost, in a pot or tray, cover with a little soil & water when dry. When big enough to handle I gently remove them & plant into fresh compost in little pots or trays with sections, again water as necessary. I do not throw out he seed trays until I am sure they are no more seedlings to come as they can be sporadic. I grow most of them under shelter intially, but put out into garden as soon as weather is warm enough.
