Some Information About ianthedruid

Giving you a little more insight into the seller.

I'm a life-long collector of American comics and science-fiction/fantasy fan who has reached an age at which I've realised I have way too much "stuff".

With 17,000+ comics and hundreds of magazines I have started going through the my boxes to trim out things that no longer interest me, or fit into the main body of the collection. I'm not a dealer and I'm not looking to gain the maximum money I can from selling, just wanting to clear out some issues, so all my listings start at a low price.

I had been selling via eBay - and have 100% positive feedback on that site - but their fees and constant "tweaking" of the way you list items has led me to try eBid instead.

CONDITION - As well as not being a dealer, I am also not a grader - I find it too subjective and I don't want to say that a comic is a certain grade only to have somebody disagree. Most of the comics and all the magazines I list will have been bought from new, read once and then stored (bagged) ever since. I will note any that were bought second-hand and any obvious defects in the individual listings. Every listing will also include photos of the front and back covers, as well as a random interior spread, so that condition can be judged.

COMICS - My collection spans the 1960s to the 2000s, covering DC, Marvel and some idependents - I remain a huge DC fan and don't expect to be listing many comics from that company (unless I have reprint volumes, in which case I might decide to sell some of the individuals). I also doubt I'll be listing too much from before the 1980s, but we'll see. All details about comics (volume, storyline, creators, etc.) are taken from on-line wiki pages (e.g. marvel.wikia.com).

MAGAZINES - I have long runs of Starburst and TV Zone and some Doctor Who magazine, although a lot of the weekly and early monthly issues of the latter have already been sold.

POSTAGE - I try to keep postage costs as cheap as possible and generally use Royal Mail second class. I have had very few issues with late delivery (just one package fron all the items I sold on eBay, and that was only noticed because the buyer received two packages from me days apart but posted on the same day) and nothing of mine has ever gone missing. If you want to use a different method or class of postage for anything you buy, please contact me.

I will always combine postage for multiple purchases.

PACKAGING - Where possible I use "twisty" mailers for comics (you can fit up to around 15 standard sized comics in one mailer) and card-backed envelopes for magazines. This packaging isn't cheap and, while I don't try to recoup the full cost, I do add a small amount (about half the cost I pay for them) to the postage cost. This is per package, so if you buy more than one item, you only get charged for packaging once. I also combine postage multiple items.

RETURNS - I am happy to accept returns of items that don't meet buyer expectations, but the buyer will have to pay return postage and I will only refund the item cost, not any postage costs. Hopefully, any concerns can be amicably resolved.
