Hello,

My name is Penny and I live in the beautiful and historic Aquitane region of France.

When I bought this house last century (seems strange saying it that way) it was the old redundant village laundry.

When the wonderful old linens and natural fabrics went out of fashion in the 1960's, giving way to easy wash synthetics and mixes, the locals just stored them in this, then, unused building. I bought the cottage because it had a lovely feeling to it as I walked in to view.

A builder friend checked the building out for me and said there was a load of old stuff (!) in the attic,  comes with the house said the agent.

The attic was, and still is, piled high with hemp, linen and cotton, not to mention the heavy wool quilts that need unpicking and recycling. I am still prising sheets out from between the ceiling rafters and replacing it with modern insulation.

I am hoping that I can dispose of these wonderful textiles to fellow fabric freaks. In addition to the French fabrics I have all the other cloth that I have collected over my life, not to mention the laces. Once the fabrics have been reduced to a manageable level i.e. enough room cleared to create a bathroom, I will cease selling, but for the meantime here I am desperately trying to move it around.

I have previously been selling on eBay as Penelopeslinenloft with a 100% feedback score of 883. I have got to get used to eBid as I am a computor dinosaur, but it is exciting to learn new ways.

I promise that I will always endeavour, within my knowledge, to describe my items honestly and accurately, all measurements are approximate but close to the stated size. My prices will be reasonable and my postage and packing charges will be at cost price.
