about the artist---
I am Susan Barackman, artist. 100% Italian heritage, born in Long Island NY, raised in Calif. and living over 35 years in Texas. I retired in 2013 after 27 years of teaching in Texas public schools (that is like 50 years in any other career).

I have been drawing since age 4, selling my art door to door as a teen. I have a long suffering husband of over 3 decades, several cats (most rescues)  a dog and 2 horses, all that have contributed to his longsuffering!
 
 
I don't hold to the old saying of "being able to sell ice to Eskimos". I prefer to let "the images speak for themselves!" and clients will buy what appeals to them, not what they are talked into that they will regret later. Satisfaction guaranteed.    
 
Favorite subjects are horses but am proficient in many areas including landscapes, pet portraits, wildlife, commercial art and other things.
 
 I work in acrylic, graphite, watercolor, colored pencil and an occasional oil painting.
 
Art styles range from realistic to abstract and my art resides in homes around the world.
