Gold nuggets as found in thier natural state is the result of surface weathering processes on high grade gold bearing quartz veins or other types of geological forces. By the actions of wind and water, gold deposits break down and slowly wash downslope to concentrate in rivers,streams, beaches and even residual gravels . Most gold deposits erode through time to tiny particles, few larger nuggets survive, Threrefore; gold nuggets are relatively rare and usually command prices higher than spot gold market rates. So not only is gold an excellent hedge against inflation but nuggets are also highly collectible.
All of our natural gold placer nuggets were found in the Bodie Mountains along the Sierra Nevada Range in California. The rich yellow color indicates thier finess assaying at 22k+.
