I have been a record collector since 1971. Although new to Ebid I have been using Ebay for the last 10 years to sell off unwanted items in my collection which run into several thousand. My 2900+ Ebay customers have given me a 100% positive feedback rating. All records are properly cleaned and are supplied in a poly protective outer sleeve. I always remove records from the outer sleeve when shipping to prevent sleeve splits. Packaging is with card protection and in cruciform boxes. I do not use those flimsy mailing envelopes which might save the seller costs but as some of us know from bitter experience they dont afford enough protection and put your purchase at risk from mishandling in transit. I don’t just sling them in the post and hope for the best. The amount of times I have received LPs and PS singles to find the Mint sleeve with a huge crease courtesy of the Post Office. There are a lot of record sellers on ebay now who have no interest in records or music and are are clueless about grading; indeed I doubt they even have a means of playing the records they are claiming are fantastic and as new condition. Some of my customers have said my EX+ is Mint perfect well I am a little tough on myself and because records are deep groove cleaned many of them play better than they would have done new as the releasing agent that is used in the pressing process is removed. Cleaning will not remove microscopic damage that manifests itself as tics and clicks or distortion where groove wear has occurred. If I grade a record as EX or better surface noise has been pretty much eliminated save for the odd tic or static on run-in and run-out. If you want cheap and like playing the lottery then you might buy the same record cheaper elsewhere. Will it be properly graded, cleaned and supplied in protective sleeves; probably not. For CD singles where possible I supply them in new jewell boxes sealed in poly bags to keep the boxes scuff free.
