Some Information About Kamabri
From Wikipedia: A written language is the representation of a language by means of a writing system. Written language is an invention, whereas spoken language has evolved along with homo sapiens. Children will instinctively learn or create spoken (or gestural) languages. However, written language must be taught. Written language always appears as a complement to a specific natural language (English, French, American Sign Language, etc.) and no purely written languages (with the exception of computer languages, which are not natural languages) exists. Nevertheless many extinct languages are in effect purely written, since the written form is all that survives. |
From earliest times, man has tried to convey a thought, concept or information across distances. Oral transmission was only as accurate as the memory of the person conveying this. And so, writing was invented... starting with simple pictures, Runes, Hieroglyphics, and so on to modern day. In this day and age of computer and space travel, it is hard to believe that over two billion people in the world cannot read. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * We, at Emerald Rune Books, do our best to provide books of variety and interest for all age groups. From out of print to modern best-sellers, our books are almost all used. We rescue them from a variety of sources... garage sales, auctions, library sales and thrift shops. "The Father" provides the financial support for this endeavor, (he pays at the sales). (^.^) "The Mother" has the unpleasant task of cleaning and repairing. "The Daughters" have the tasks of making sure that book descriptions are complete and informative, from what the book is about to what the condition is. Many times, the books without dust jackets have to be either read or researched to give a most accurate description. "The Sons" do the heavy lifting, carrying and stocking. "The Grandmother" colored the Rune Wheel We hope that you find that "special book" in our inventory. We would really like to have you as a customer and repeat customer for years to come. |
