Fishing Tackle Direct was started by Chris and Marc to inspire and encourage people to go out and enjoy fishing. Our aim is provide quality fishing tackle that is affordable and easy to use.

Fishing is for all the family. It provides a great opportunity for everyone to embrace the outdoors, enjoy and appreciate the environment, get in touch with and learn about nature. As a family it is something you can do and enjoy together in the fresh air. You can combine fishing with a family picnic, walk or holiday and it is great fun. One of the best things about fishing is that it is accessible. From as young as 9 (or 3ft 6") to any age, fishing is a fun, healthy outdoor activity.

Clubs thrive in the UK and offer youngsters the opportunity to lean about the rivers, lakes, canals, waterways and surrounding countryside whilst enjoying a challenging yet relaxing sport.

Profiles

Chris - Having worked in local government for a number of years Chris felt it was time to try something new. Having an interest in fishing and seeing the sport as a great opportunity for a business venture he researched the potential of offering affordable tackle. He soon discovered that the aim of providing quality tackle at an affordable price would involve sourcing manufacturing in the Far East. The initial experience wasn't great but with the help of Kerry they were able to find a good reliable partner.

Marc - Also worked for local government and felt like he needed to make a change in his life so that he could spend more time with his family. When he talked this through with his friend Chris they decided they could build a business together. Although Marc has little experience of fishing he is learning the trade and catching on fast.

Kerry - comes from Canton and joined the team initially to help find a suitable manufacturer in China. Kerry visited a specialist fishing trade show in China to meet with prospective partners. Having found a number of potential partners she visited each factory to understand how the company operated and their work ethics. Kerry was able to find the perfect partners for FTD who manufactured the range of rods you see today.

Shipping Information

Lighter items such as hooks, floats etc will be shipped by Royal Mail Standard Services.

For Non Remote Mainlaind U.K. addresses, heavier items such as fishing sets, packs, reels and rods will be shipped via Next Working Day from Dispatch (Signature Required).

Otherwise, for Northern Ireland and Remote U.K. addresses, FTD will post via Royal Mail Standard Parcel/Small Packet services.

FTD uses City Link and UK Mail (Business Post) couriers for our courier deliveries.

PLEASE NOTE 

FTD uses a next day from dispatch Courier Service For heavier items such as (packs, sets, reels and rods (otherwise dispatch is via Royal Mail), you will be notifed which service is used within the item listing.

Please ensure someone is available to sign for the delivery.
