anyone received any compensation yet, I have received an e-mail advising me it has been approved but no readies as yet.
Police are gonna come and get a statement soon, so I ask them when the case is due, and were it will be. Will someone post a message when they fet some info about the insurance claim.
Hey, agyemanjones blokey... you get the info, I'l be there [probably not with bells on, though that can be discussed.] This man will pay everyone back, in however long, I'll find him, and he will pay.
I lost £430.50. I am really pissed off. That money was for a badky needed new computer. Is anyone gonna go to court and see who this guy is in the flesh?
The insurance states that you have to wait 30 days after auction close to make a claim... I put mine in on 8/9/2000 so I'm waiting for a response. Still, £150 is still way short of the £300 I lost... I think others have lost more? Time for everyone to get together and write a few letters to some consumer groups ensuring that eBid get the bad write-up they deserve over this :-(
no just like yourself i am waiting for them to get back to me i put my claim in on the15/8/00
Has anyone got any news back from the Inbsurance people. I have made a claim, and they have yet to get back to me. Ebid better not muck up the insurance as well as I will bad mouth them on every website and pc magazine letter pages in the world.
Well guys Mr C Bonney is in the 'BAG' so I guess until 'ebid' shapeup thats where the power of CONSUMERS FURY should be pointed...a 'Pontius Pilite' attitude in a user orientainted business is just not good enough, I shall not trade here or recomend until I hear otherwise from all those posted HERE! Are you LISTENING...ebid? probably not by all accounts!
I sent an email asking whether ebid will offer affected users a full refund. Got a reply saying no. I have nothing nice to say about ebid apart for the fact that they did help with the investgation to find this guy, but they should check the people who sell goods on ebid.
Latest Update. No chance of lost monies back. They have caught Booney and he is looking at 4 years in prosion. He has admitted alll the crimes he has done. There are 40 frauds all together. I think ebid should fully reperse us as to aviod negative publictiy. I have no problem with writting leeters to various magazines and sites slating ebid.
well things are lookin' up in identifying C. Bonney contact krakan for info [ it can't be posted here!]...tell me has anyone who lost monies been contacted by ebid to say what form of 'redress' they're offering to ypou guys? I'd just like to know...because I will not trade on ebid till I hear something positive from a recieptiant and not from 'ebid' marketing!!! please post here .........:•?
Look at the top of this page - "Fully Secure Enviroment" Yeah Right!
Don't you worry ITDEALERS.... If I find him, I'll speak in his language
I really feel sorry for everyone who has lost money to this ass?$*@. It is just so sad that people like this get away with it. The sad fact is that this type of crime is almost impossible to prove and therefor the guy will probably get away with it. I wonder if there would be a case to answer against EBID for failure of duty of care. If not, they should, out of respect for their site users, pay some form of compensation to those that have lost money. At the end of the day, if the buyers on auction sites start to loose confidence then companies such as EBID will be out of business. Maybe those that have lost money should lobby EBID; sadly though I don't feel that this would amount to much. At the end of the day the only language that these rip-off merchants understand is a good slapping in a dark corner. Good luck anyway retrieving your money.
I CAN'T BELIEVE EBID LET THIS GUY CON WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE THOUSANDS OF POUNDS OUT OF GOOD HONEST EBID BUYERS. I JUST HOPE THE NEW INSURANCE EBID ARE DOING CAN RECOVER SOME OF THEIR LOSSES. GOOD LUCK.
I too have been ripped off to the tune of £297.50 by this wanker. I have just sent email to my bank, eBid and the police tonight. If anyone has any update or anything to share please email me on paul_morgan_2000@hotmail.com Best of luck to everyone involved, I think we'll need it :-(
Who, I might add, is lowlife scum.
Yeah, thanks SOH.. but I think we're gonna start filling eBid's HDD soon... let's hope they don't resort to buying a new one from the 'fine upstanding businessperson' computer_trader....
PS: by the way, mu email address is SOH@btinternet.com if anybody who has been affected needs any further info. Thank you ---- SOH.........
I forgot to press the negative button last time - Sorry - so here it all is again!!!!!! To whom it may concern: Hi there Yes, I too recently sent this guy a cheque for £851 supposedly for two new Toshina Sat Pro 4270 Laptops. Acting on an email tip-off from ebid today (Tues 15th August), I contacted my bank and fortunately it looks like they may still be able to cancel the cheque. This hasn't been confirmed yet, but I'm hoping to hear from them in the morning and fingers crossed, they will be able to stop the cheque. Many thanks to all for making me aware of this situation. I may jsu have been saved in time from being ripped off to the tune of £851. I have emailed ebid all the info I had, which is basically probably only the same email invoice that everybody else received. By the way, Mark Wilkinson at Ebid asked me if I would also email Ross May (r.may@west- midlands.police.uk) at Bradford St Police Station, Birmingham (tel: 0121 626 8727), to forward whatever info I had, so I have done that this evening. I trust everyone else will follow suit, so as the police have as much info to go on as they can possibly have - even if its the same info over and over. At least then they will know how many different people have been (or have very nearly been) ripped off. I empathise with those who have lost money and I count myself very lucky, that's if in fact my cheque does get stopped in time. I won't know until the bank get back to me in the morning (Wed 16th August). I'd appreciate being kept informed about this one, if it's possible. I soncerely hope that all those have actually money (and I could be one of them yet) do manage to achieve some redress either through the auction house, or perhaps the police. Anyway, I've emailed as much as I know to both ebid and the police and informed as many of the others I have contact details for, so I suppose that't the best I can do for now. Good luck to you all in recovering lost funds. Lets hope we can get this sorted. My only concern is that there's really nothing to stop this individual (male, female, or whatever) from setting up amother account under a different name and address eother on ebid, or whatever other auction site they like. People can have as many different auction accounts with whatever details they want. For instance, I recently won an auction and when the details for payment come through, it read 'please forward payment to Mr. Tony Blair, 10 Downing Street, London' and that was from ebid. So I suppose there's really nothing to stop people like this. Oh by the way, no I didn't send Tony the payment!. Bye for now. SOH...... A note to all those considering dealing with C Bonney Computer Trader 91 Hillmeads Road Kings Norton Birmingham B38 9NE Please be aware that he is 100% fraudulent and under no circumstances send this individual any money. If you are stupid enough to even consider trading with this person, please ensure that you arrange to personally collect your goods and pay cash - Also, please read negative feedback on ebid auctions. Thank You....

Like krakan I may as well depress his rating a little more , he has depressed everyone else. Earlier this evening I had an interesting e-mail from another victim, suggesting that this gentleman may not be a gentleman at all, Chris could actually be short for Christine etc. I know all women regard men as the corrupt side of the species but we do not have a monopoly on it, and just for the fun of it I will add that "this stunt is just about devious enough for a womans mind to come up with". All flames from outraged women reading this post may be sent to sales@comutertrader.fsbusiness.co.uk
amil means mail... It's a dialect...ahem.
Anyone who wanted on the list and who didn't get amil tonight, send the request again... I only write buggy software - it's a religion. Remember - krakan@madasafish.com with subject line 'subscribe'
Call me picky, but I thought I'd use the opportunity to further decrease this rating by asking yo all to pay attention to the spelling of 'krakan' Also, no reply today, and I'll be phoning monsieur asshole constantly....
Hi all I have an appointment with Gary Needham at Sheffield Woodseat Police on the 16/8/00 to report this, I myself will be passing all this to him as well. It will be a lesson well learnt. Cheers
Hi All, just a quick one I've spoken to a guy called John Raby at Birmingham Police Fraud intelligence and given him all the details...maybe you all want to touch base with him too! The more info he has the better chance we have of getting the person in question! John Raby Tel. 0121 6265000 Fax. 0121 626 5555
As promised I said I would ley all know if my HDD arrived monday and guess what folks, got it in one, a big resounding NO IT DID NOT, now isn't that a surprise. I have given all I have to Kraken and eBid lets hope we can nail this SOB.
Please don't forget he probs Just finished with E-Bid check other auction sites !!
Exellent seller will reccomend F****** BOLLOCKS here is a mobile number obtained via recources probs only pay as you go !!! 07720217400 Get dialin !!
I have also won a bid for a harddrive from this guy. I have been waiting to see if jaypee (a relation) received his goods b4 sending any monies it looks like I did the right thing by waiting. Iwish u all good look ing getting your monies/goods off this joker :-(
Anyway, we need to do something about this - this creep and many like him are setting a lower tone on the internet, they've already muddied eBid's name - I nearly didn't bid on a TV card earlier becasue of the suspect low price.. and I expect I'll use Escrow.. I've had to have auction deleted - you can't build expensive PCs without RAM and sell tham at the price I offered.... I look bad, eBid look bad, online auctions as a whole look bad... It's time it stopped.. and I'm afraid this bloke picked the wrong man to mess with. I will NOT let this go...
Thanks everyone for appreciating it, andagyemanjones, I'm in if you have any ideas... Anyway, I'm trying to get together a group of everyone who's been affected, even if you've not lost anything to him. I have a mailing list of 19 people so far, and I'm sending out 2- hourly [or as often as I can] with updates of all we have. If you would like oto help, or just watch our investigation, email krakan@madasafish.com with SUBSCRIBE in the subject... I have some good info - I hope everyone has a little...
As I expected I haven`t recieved anything for this con-man. I see that E-Bid are now taking an active interest in tracking this guy also. So at least he shouldnt be able to trade again with them at least. I would like to applaud Krakan for the action he is taking.
E-bid are gonna come out bad of this. Even though mostof use should have used an Escow service. I though sellers were checked out before they could post an auction. don't sellers have to pay to list an auction, and leave credit card numbers for payment.
This bloke needs locking up! He has ripped us off big time. I'm sure if we work together we will get this rip off merchant. I think we should also inform the trading standards authorities - what do you think?
Lets all arange something were we could all meet him. I live in Slough (South- East). I just don't want to get my money back from this guy.
Well my goods ain't come. All who have lost money should club together an try and get our money back.
I've given ebid all the info I have to hand ...and a swift reply came from them...to see what they can do...I suggested that they give to all those who lost monies... the personal detail he used to register as a 'Seller' for them all to pass onto the Birmingham Police. My business partner is a Magistrate and as ITDEALERS says...these are criminal offences, we therefore are in the process of obtaining info from the 'Brum' locals.... By sticking together and working as an 'e-community' where 'Trust' is a golden commodity...shysters like this will be dealt with.....as the 'Krakan' says.....
Right then guys, that's it then - has anyone tried the address listed in the eBid info for him? I'm contacting Freeserve [his ISP] and eBid to obtain the IP of the poster of the auctions. We can get his telephone number from this [Freeserve won't accept dialups without CLID] and an address through BT... I recommend that in addition to contacting the police at this time, we track him down and remove a limb. The Halifax are being contacted first thing tomorrow morning, we'll get this guys address even if the Police need to be contacted. I can get this creeps info - but if anyone else has the ability let me know [2 heads are better than one] so we get it right.... I inted to nail everything about this sheister to the wall.
ooops, my email is guy@alldis.fsnet.co.uk
I have had a few emails from various people so far, if anyone who ahs lost money would like to contact me by email i would like to give them additional info which i do not want to post on here for reasons that will be apparant.
Isn't it sad when crooks like this guy steal money from honest, trusting people such as ourselves?. We are a genuine IT company that is trying to make an honest business on the Internet. As well as selling here, we also sell on QXL. I feel that we lose sales because our prices are so good. People just don't trust a good deal anymore and I feel that sadly, with shysters like this guy, things will only get worse. We didn't pay, thankfully, but previous comments about the `Legal Angle' are quite correct. This guy is guilty of obtaining money by deception and false representation, along with a host of other `imprisonable' offences. I suggest that anyone who has lost money to this guy make a complaint to their local police and stress the `obtaining by deception' offence. Otherwise the police will just say that its a civil matter. Good luck in getting your money back.
well you can guess - not yet it hasn't. Judging by everyone else it doesn't look good. Was supposed to arrive on the 10th. Have emailed him but no reply. I thought the prices were too good to be true.
