Seller's Description

Original British 17 inch x 11 inch 8 page illustrated Pressbook with a central 17 inch x 22 inch Lift Bill for the 1955 Ken Annakin Romantic Comedy VALUE FOR MONEY, based on the novel by Derrick Boothroyd and starring John Gregson, Diana Dors, Susan Stephen, Derek Farr, Frank Pettingell, Charles Victor, Ernest Thesiger, Jill Adams, Joan Hickson and Donald Pleasence.

John Gregson stars as Chayley Broadbent, a young Yorkshire businessman leading a dull, perfunctory life. He inherits a sizeable fortune, plus a prosperous textile factory, from his wealthy father. Soon after, he has a fight with his straight-laced girlfriend, Ethel (Susan Stephen) and leaves her, taking off for London. Once there, he plunges into the nightclub circuit, falling in love with showgirl Diana Dors. But she mistakes him for an impoverished chap and thus rejects his marriage proposal. When she finally figures out the truth, she makes a beeline for him, but by then he's onto her golddigging motives and instead opts to return to Ethel.

Cover art is by Silvano "Nano" Campeggi (1923 - 2018). An Italian artist who designed and produced the artwork for the posters of many classic Hollywood films. His iconic images are associated with the golden era of Hollywood and Campeggi is now generally regarded as the most important graphic artist and poster designer in the history of American cinema
