The botanic name of the Tulsi / Holy Basil plant is Ocimum tenuiflorum,

Ocimum sanctum and Ocimum gratissimum.

The plant comes in many varieties such as Krishna Tulsi, Rama Tulsi, Kapoora Tulsi and Vana Tulsi.

Every part of the Tulsi plant is power packed with uses that

extend from medicinal or herbal, to culinary, religious and spiritual.

The sacred Tulsi Plant is valued for it’s wondrous and many healing powers. Since ancient times,

the inhabitants of india while practicing medicine, religion and cooking, used the Tulsi plant (Holy Basil).

Such uses of the Tulsi plant has also been historically documented in China and the rest of Asia, the Middle East, North Africa,

and Australia. Most of all Tulsi is a personality worshiped by the Vaisnavas, and Her leaves are offered to only Lord Krsna / Vishnu.
