This big beautiful rose rock was found near Noble, Oklahoma. It measures about 4-7/8" in length and about 3-1/2" in width. Weighs 1 lb. 8 ozs. Lovely medium rose shade!
Rose rocks are a form of the mineral barite. They are found in a few places around the world but by far the largest concentration is found in a strip running through central Oklahoma. Not surprisingly, the rose rock became the state rock of Oklahoma in 1968.
