Detailed Condtion : Does not appear to have been used. Does have some scuffs and scratches, normal shelf wear marks on the outside. Overall, nice condition!
This is a beautiful cedar Bible box that was apparently given as a sympathy gift. On the front is an engraved cross in circle design with "Holy Bible" engraved underneath. The box closes with a metal hinge clasp. There is a small loop where a lock can be attached. The two halves of the box are attached with two metal hinges on one side. The color is deeper and richer than it looks in the photos. Inside, there is a picture of Jesus on the left with an attached sympathy card from the local U.A.W. There is a stretchy gold band on the right side to hold the Bible in place. On the lower center of the back, there is a black stamp, presumably from the maker of the box but it is not readable. (see last photo above)

Approximate dimensions of the box: 10-1/8" x 7" x 2-3/8". Weighs about 1 lb. 4 ozs.
This box does not appear to have been used. The outside does have some scratches and scuffs from normal shelf wear (more on the back than the front). There is a nice subtle cedar odor inside the box. The hinges work well and the clasp is secure. The box is well made and would securely protect a cherished Bible!
