Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1978 Nagisa Oshima Drama EMPIRE OF PASSION (AI NO BOREI), based on the novel by Itoko Namura and starring Tatsuya Fuji, Kazuko Yoshiyuki, Takahiro Tamura, Takuzo Kawatani and Akyoshi Fujiwara.
Set in a Japanese village at the end of the nineteenth century, the film details the emotional and physical downfall of a married woman and her younger lover following their decision to murder her husband and dump his body down a well. After a while, his ghost comes to haunt them while the local gossip grows stronger.
Poster art is by Dwoskin and Meissner.
