It is VERY DIFFICULT to find a CD-RW drive that will work 
in a Fostex VF recorder...
Just any drive will not work...
These are GUARANTEED to work...

It's almost IMPOSSIBLE to find these...
So get one while you can...
Purchase one to have as a back-up, if for no other reason...

Works in Fostex VF80, VF80EX, VF160 and VF160EX recorders...

Very easy to install...It simply slots in the outside of the machine and screws in place...

Works best with quality name discs such as Memorex, Maxell, Tdk, Sony, ETC....

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Does not come with mounting brackets, face plate or screws...
You will need to use the ones from your old drive...

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you are purchasing this for a Fostex VF160 recorder, it must have
software version 2.03 or higher in order for this drive to work...

Based on test results with a VF160 recorder,
this CD1A drive will not correctly save data to a cd-r disc or a cd-rw disc 
when using a VF160 with software lower than version 2.03...

To see what your current version is, power on VF160 recorder and watch the 
display screen while initializing...
It will show the current version...

If you have software version 1.10 and up, 
you can update the software to version 2.08 via this CDRW drive...

And I will include an upgrade cd (with easy to follow instructions) free of charge,

just let me know...

I also sell (Zip Drive) software version 2.08 up-grade kits 
(with easy to follow instructions) for the VF160 with 
software version lower than 1.10...
