Seller's Description

B & R Volume 79 DVD - North Wales Steam Lines - The Jim Clemens Collection No 6.

I quote from the box:

‘A journey around North Wales from 1959 to 1967 covering many lines now closed.

From CHESTER to RUABON and down the Dee Valley via LLANGOLLEN and CORWEN to BALA JUNCTION showing all intermediate stations and Halts. The BALA TOWN shuttle service leads to FFESTINIOG via ARENIG. Continue down to BARMOUTH JUNCTION, again all stations via DOLGELLAU and PENMAENPOOL. Across the MAWDDACH estuary and see a rare sighting of BARMOUTH BRIDGE being opened. BARMOUTH was busy in the early 1960's and GWR motive power mixed with the Standards. North along the coast line, no stations left out, to PWHELLI via PORTMADOC with some early views of the infant Ffestiniog Railway. The now closed route from AFON WEN to CAERNARFON and BANGOR is followed The MENAI BRIDGE, before a road was built on top of it, takes one to HOLYHEAD. On the return a comprehensive visit to the ALMWCH branch with an Ivatt tank. Back at BANGOR the PENRHYN quarries are seen in detail before traversing the CONWAY VALLEY to BLAENAU.

A railtour to DENBIGH and CORWEN in 1962 is followed by a journey on the Land Cruise train via RHYL and BARMOUTH JUNCTION.’

Running time is approx 60 minutes.
