Seller's Description
This is a postcard with a view of Cancale, France. It was posted in 1959, with a cachet from the Ecole Militaire Enfantine Hériot (Heriot Children's Military School), based in La Boissière-École, south-west of Paris. The school was set up in 1884 to educate children aged five to 13, who were war orphans or children of troops who had until then shared the lives of soldiers (see more here).
The card may have been written by a young man from this school, as he addresses it "cher parents", although he could also be a member of staff.
The card is in fair condition with some wear to the corners and edges.
