"We, Robert William Hudson trading as R. S. Hudson of Bank Hall, Liverpool in the County of Lancaster, Soap Manufacturer and Alfred Richard Pritchard of the same place, Book Keeper, do hereby declare the nature of this invention to be as follows: This invention has for its object an improvement in or relating to string boxes and string cutters on counters and the like, whereby the string is cut much more easily than at present and the invention consists essentially in forming the nife and a 'V' shield some little distance from the knife..."
