A decent guy , trying to keep his head above water . After my mum had a fall about a year ago she needs pretty much full time care , and I am hoping that this will provide me with something I can do around her needs to generate some [ much needed ] extra income .The state believes I can live on just over 80 quid a week , though Lord knows how much it would cost the state if I was to put her into a home [ something I am as desperate to avoid as Mum is !!!].I am not a lazy person - I worked full time for 35 years without a break , but I am determined that the rest of my Mums life is as comfortable and worry free as I can make it . We have also been turned down for attendance allowance , despite Mum being housebound , and unable to do even the most basic things anymore .Please don't get me wrong , I am not whining about this - c'est la vie .....but it has been incredibly hard to watch her slide from a fit , intelligent woman into someone who can't change the channels on her Tv , or make herself a cup of tea safely .
Basically I am selling some personal items , books,clothing ,cds & dvds mainly , which I believe I have taken great care of .I did try 'the other site' , but found the fees unbelievably high . Some of the buyers also seemed determined to bully unjustified discounts , and the level of support offered by Ebay was pitiful , not to mention another sly way to add to the fees[ have you ever tried to ring support , the calls cost a FORTUNE !!] I am hoping this site will be friendlier ....... I am not looking for charity, but please be as generous as you can with your bids , Thank you
UPDATE; Following a short illness my mum passed away on the 17th of August. I will update this page as soon as I am able.
