Hi, Thank you for looking at my “all about me” page, I hope I can answer some of your questions here, like who is Mike?, what are these dopplers? why are they so cheap? why are they in GBP? what is GBP? and what does that mean to me? Lets start with me !!...... Who is Mike Brampton? I am the Managing Director of a Medical Equipment Company called Thames Medical, which designs, builds and sells medical electronic equipment, mainly to Hospitals, Paramedic services, Doctors, Dentists and Veterinary Surgeons. Most of this equipment is in the field of "vital signs monitoring" and most of it you wouldn't want to be attached to because it would mean you were very poorly. There is however one product line which is an exception to this....the dopplers, and these are not only an important monitoring tools but can also be a lot of fun. Why do I sell the dopplers on Ebay? Fun. Generally in my day to day role, I am talking to the factory, the money men, salesmen, administrators etc, but it wasn't always like this....I used to be a salesman as well as a designer, and I used to do a lot of teaching...for Doctors, Midwives, Paramedics etc . I loved the contact with the people who used the equipment I had designed and my people built, and I suppose I miss it a bit. Times change and we all move on, but via Ebay, I've found a way that I can carry on with a bit of teaching and a bit of selling, and I can keep my hand in talking and working with the people who use our equipment, and I don't upset our salesmen by interrupting their calls to their customers. Ebay is my patch. What is GBP? In short it stands for Great British Pounds or Pounds Sterling, our currency here in the UK, which is where we are based and the currency we trade in. We have been trading for nearly 10 years now and have built a strong reputation as an ethical supplier of quality medical equipment. We operate a level of care and quality standards which is the envy of many of our rivals and copied by many, and we have strict procedures for everything, for example, confidentiality. All transactions with us start and finish with us and all our clients details are kept confidential. Only the people in the company who need to, know your details and only those parts needed for them to do their job, (for example: the people in dispatch only know your name and address) and once they have done their part your details are not kept on file. The only records about you that are kept on file are your name address and telephone number which are put with the serial number of the product we have sold you, we need this for Medical trace-ability. Why don’t you accept Paypal? Simply because we prefer to pass on the savings of dealing direct on to our customers. We have been accepting credit cards now for nearly 10 years and in effect do exactly what Paypal do and we don’t see why you or we should put another company in between us and our customers…or charge them Paypal fees.
