Butterick 6409 sewing pattern. This 1970s undated pattern can be used to make a child's Loose-fitting short or long sleeved top with or without a hood and a pair of elasticized pants in a size 4.
The pattern is cutout and well used.

One pattern piece is missing but has been replaced with a handmade piece.

CHILDREN'S TOP & PANTS
Loose-fitting top with or without elasticized hemline have partial elasticized scoop neckline and purchased ribbon bow trim. A & B: have short or full-length raglan sleeves. can be worn rolled up. C & D: have attached self hood and short or full-length sleeves elasticized at lower edges. NOTE: When sleeve B is worn rolled up. wrong side of fabric will show. Straight leg pants without side seams, has straight front waistband with elasticized side and back sections, and optional patch pockets with flap and button trim. Topstitching.

NOTIONS:
Top: Y4" Elastic: 1/4 yd. for A and B. 1-3/8 yds. for C and 1-1/4 yds. for D and Bias Tape (single fold). Pants: Two 5/8" (line 24) Buttons (optional) and 1/2 yd. of 1" Elastic .

FABRICS:
Soft or Crisp fabrics such as Cotton Knits, Jersey, Broadcloth. Chambray, Gauze. Crepe, Muslin, Gingham and Seersucker for Top. Broadcloth, Pinwale Corduroy. Gabardine, Poplin. Kettlecloth, Chino and Seersucker for Pants.
Obvious diagonal fabrics are not suitable. For one-way design: use nap yardage and nap layout. Allowance for matching plaid and stripes not included in yardages given.

The envelope is in fair condition with creasing and scuff marks. There is a light colored stain on the flap and top of the envelope. (see Pictures).

The pattern pieces and instructions are in fair, used condition.

Note:
Piece 1 PANTS POCKET, has a large rip caused by a tracing wheel.
Piece 2 PANTS FRONT AND BACK, has tracing wheel damage around pocket.
Piece 3 PANTS WAISTBAND Original piece is missing but there is a piece that has been drawn out on a piece of paper.
Sheet 2 of the instructions has several large rips in it and has a small piece missing that affects 2 diagrams (but should not affect their sewing). It also has a blue stain on it.

Also included is a chart titled "Quick Tip Casings" Including tips on:
Fabric tunnels designed to enclose elastic and drawstrings.
Keep Seams Flat.
Turning Drawstrings.
Pull Through.

Please Note that I ship patterns via letter mail, in a plain envelope and the listed postage is for that method. My Patterns are stored in a plastic storage bags and they are shipped in the same bag placed inside of a standard envelope. If you require any other packaging/shipping please let me know prior to paying for the item
