1963 Brooke Bond Tea British Butterflies Card # 17 of 50 Heath Fritillary Gd (2)

For sale is a 1963 Brooke Bond Tea, British Butterflies, Card # 17 of 50, featuring “Heath Fritillary” in Good (2) condition.

The following discrepancies are noted:  Corners are dinged, starting to round, frayed; Moderate chipping / notches along borders; Borders are off-white / discolored due to age / handling; Light surface wear; Discoloration on backside of card due to age / handling; Card is off-center.

Cards were illustrated and described by Richard Ward. 

Brooke Bond is a British tea company, and the card listed is commonly referred to as a “tea card.”  Card measurements are commensurate with early tobacco cards more specifically the T206 series.

This card is from the original release of this series printed in 1963.  Please note, a reprint set was produced in 1973.  The reprints utilized black ink on the backside of the card.
