Seller's Description

This is a postcard showing a view of the New Zealand Shipping Company steamer SS Ruahine going through the Gatun Locks on the Panama Canal (see more history of the vessel here).  One of the small 'mules' used to pull ships in the locks can also be seen.  The card was published by Maduro, and posted in 1912.

The card is in fair condition with some wear to the corners and edges, and some marks on the back.

Please see some other Panama Canal cards, currently on sale, as well as other nautical items.
