Lapis & Moonstone Sterling Silver Drop Necklace Set

You are looking at one handcrafted Sterling silver drop necklace and earrings set featuring genuine delicate Rainbow Moonstone chips and small round Lapis beads.

The necklace features an oval, open-backed, silver-mounted Lapis pendant which measures around 15mms by 18mms and I've hand wrapped the bale using Sterling Silver wire and added an oval Moonstone and two small Lapis beads which hang from the pendant giving it plenty of movement. Balinese silver beads, plain beads, tubes & lobster claw clasp are also all Sterling silver (strung using a strong nylon-coated Steel thread). Approximate length of necklace is around 17 ½”.

Earwires, headpins & beads of the matching earrings are also Sterling silver and they have an approximate total length of 1 ½ " (3.5cms).

I’ve been designing and making jewellery for a long time, having started designing at a young age, partly because my parents were antique dealers so I got to "play" with a lot of lovely Victorian/Edwardian crystal/amber/jet/pearl beads and was inspired by all the beautiful pieces I came across at Antique/Fine Art fairs. Add that to the fact that I've always been a collector of gemstone rocks/minerals (I still can't walk by a lovely specimen without stopping to admire it) so I knew about all the gorgeous semi-precious gems just waiting to be sourced and made into something unique – put the two passions together and you get a jewellery designer !!   Please note, however, that this is my hobby - I am not a business - so I cannot always make things on the spur of the moment.

I work exclusively with precious metals and genuine gemstones (precious and semi-precious) and genuine pearls. I source my stones and findings from around the world, using respected and ethical suppliers and also, wherever possible, direct from small companies who actually make their silver or mine/cut their gemstones themselves, for example, my Balinese silver beads actually do come from Bali. I exhibit at UK Craft fairs and Galleries and have been selling online since 2000. Each piece is made with care and an attention to detail you’ll find very hard to beat and I’m always very happy to accept commissions for one-off pieces for that special person/occasion.
