I purchased this unit Wed. Jan 10, 2023. ... It will not connect to the Internet. Went through setup wizard and did a factory reset. All front panel lights are steady green except the INTERNET light which is FLASHING green. The computer communicates with the modem with 192.168.0.1. The computer shows "no Internet" What else can be done to get the modem to connect to the Internet? Cordially Thomas Hasenour

You may need to contact the ISP, tell them that you're activating / using your own modem, they will ask for the MAC address (printed on the label 6CCA08730E33). The ISP will then connect the modem. I know comcast's self-activating using own modem needs a phone call to activate (their online and android usually don't work. iphone app sometimes work). Calling or chatting into tech support to activate own modem is the quickest.

And just to make sure the coax cable is connected..On the management page (the 192.168.0.1 website) the up and down should be bonded even when modem not authorized. Bonded means there is signal from the coax, just not ready to log-in/connect due to MAC address not permitted. If no signal detected, check the coax outlet or may need to contact ISP for a tech visit to make sure that the coax is good.

Correction, I provided the wrong MAC address in the 1st reply (I provided the SB6183 modem MAC that I'm selling, but the unit you purchased is SB6700-AC, correct MAC address is 74EAE84C08A1 printed on the label on your unit). The unit you purchased is SBG6700-AC, which is the modem+wifi combo model. Front panel lights Send and Received steady green means signal locked / channels bonded, which means the coax is connected and signal good. The Internet (the world icon) flashing means trying to establish service. If this keeps flashing forever, the most likely cause is that the MAC address of the modem hasn't been entered into the ISP's database. Please try to contact the ISP and let them know that you'd like to active your own modem, provide them the MAC address, they will be able to add the MAC address to their system which will then allow the modem to connect. This is the 3rd reply regarding the initial question; please also check the previous two. The question came in via the currently active listing of SB6183 so I provided the wrong MAC initially. Sorry about the confusion.
