Genuine Antique 9ct Gold Platinum Diamond Trilogy Style Ring
Hello there and welcome (kroeso) to my wee store.
I sell online in high-end shops and websites and pre-Covid used to attend trade fairs around the globe. I have a huge stock of "bargain basement" items which were great at fairs for inexpensive extras. I also have a massive stock of highly valuable and collectable items never seen before on the internet.
Whilst going through my stock I realized that I have MANY items which have been stored for years without being offered for sale. I will be offering these items for sale briefly at a vastly reduced price before deciding whether to keep them or repurpose them.
ABOUT THIS RING
Constructed from solid 9ct rosey gold (375 parts per 1000) with 950 Platinum mount.
Fully assay marked old style UK and x-ray tested.
Dates to latter part of the 19th Century c1870s.
The diamond is set in a solid platinum starburst mount.
The style is a classic Victorian with the stone being flush (rub over) set.
Very good condition, especially considering age. There is a little damage to the rear of the mount (see pics) but does not detract.
In olden times the alloying of gold left it too soft to mount stones in effectively. For this reason other metals were used to provide a more secure setting - in this instance platinum.
Main Stones: 1 x rose cut natural white diamonds, ice white and loupe clean.
Width across setting is 4 mm.
Width at rear is 1.4 mm.
Depth of setting is 3.8mm.
UK Size is N 1/2.
US size is 7.0.
Resizable by your jeweller (I do not resize without measuring the finger myself)
You would expect to pay between £500 and £750 for a ring like this at a Fancy Antique Jeweller, depending on your ability to hunt down a bargain.
