1962 Film Newsreel Duluth Minnesota WDSM Port Terminal WDSM Vintage

In the original canister, in a shipping box addressed to WDSM Television  in Duluth, Minnesota

The reel is labeled "Duluth Port Terminal 1962"

The film is taped down at the tip with a small piece of masking tape, probably after it was last played

We don't know the contents or the length.  The Duluth Port Terminal was and still is a major Great Lakes port, at the tip of Lake Superior, and it is probably a local documentary on the harbor and its traffic.

It was apparently returned to the photographer after being aired, but we don't know the history.  It was stored in an insulated, heated attic, and there are no signs of mold or damage.

WDSM-TV began on March 1, 1954,  and was affiliated with CBS.  In October 1955, the station became an NBC affiliate. It began local color broadcasts in November 1965.  In 1974 the call letters were changed to KBJR-TV.

This item comes from a camera store that was owned by my father. It was stored in a clean, dry, heated attic. We are not camera experts and this has not been tested.  Please contact us before buying if you have any additional questions.
