Welcome to Glen Sunnybogle, Highland home of the Clan MacScarecrow, Scottish branch of the Scarecrow Family. This colourful collection of knitted characters includes Scotty, keeper of the wild haggis and his wife Morag, expert knitter of the MacScarecrow tartan. They have two children - Wee Sproot and Baby Bonnie and a little dog called Scamp.
The oldest member of the family is Great Uncle Angus, bagpipe-playing Laird of ancient Bogle Castle. And last but not least, there is Big Bobby — the lovable green monster of Ben Bogle mountain!

General materials required
Double knitting yarn [ USA, knitting worsted weight: Australia, 8 ply] in colours stated in the instructions or colours of your choice. Only small amounts are required for the various parts of each doll or toy, so it can be assumed that any part can be completed with 25g [1 oz] or less. If a larger amount is required, this will be mentioned in the individual instructions.
Good quality washable stuffing [amounts required are quoted in the individual instructions].
A pair of tweezers [useful for turning small knitted pieces right side out and also for inserting small amounts of stuffing].
A long darning needle with a large eye, for working the facial features.
A sewing needle with a large eye and rounded point, for sewing up the knitted pieces and for working the Swiss darning [ USA: duplicate stitch].
A crochet hook, approximate size 4mm [No 8, USA F/5], for hooking on the hair fringes.
A red colouring pencil for shading cheeks.
Knitting needles required
A pair of 3mm [No 11, USA 2]. Use this size for all the pieces, unless otherwise stated.
A pair of 5mm [No 6, USA 7] for the monster.
