Text from the free encyclopedia WIKIPEDIA may appear below to give a little background information:
*************
Chartres (French pronunciation: [?a?t?]) is a town and commune and capital of the Eure-et-Loir department in north-central France. It is located 96 km (60 mi) southwest of Paris.
Chartres is built on the left bank of the Eure River, on a hill crowned by its famous cathedral, the spires of which are a landmark in the surrounding country. To the south-east stretches the fruitful plain of Beauce, the "granary of France", of which the town is the commercial centre.
Novotel is one of a number of hotel chains owned by the French hotel group Accor. Whilst most numerous in France, more than 410 Novotel hotels are found throughout the world.
Novotel has taken comprehensive steps to prove its commitment to the environment. In July 2007 it signed a partnership agreement with EC3 Global, to provide Green Globe certification.[1]
