His story The Case of the Pishtykh, published in 1956, became the first widely known domestic detective, which led to a revival of the detective genre in the country in the 1950 s. Director Nikolai Dostal directed the film of the same name on this book in 1958. The gifted writer, who masterfully built the storyline of his works, published about 30 books.
