1936 Ethiopia Unissued Croix Rouge Stamp 
 

Mint, no hinge marks

Printed in 1936 as a charity stamp to support the Ethiopian Red Cross

Depicts a nurse and patient

The stamps arrived in Djibouti a few days after the occupation of Addis Abeba by the Italians. The Ethiopian Government in Gore used small quantities and some were sold to philatelists in Djibouti.

The remaining stamps were held until after the Liberation. This stamp was then overprinted and issued as Scott #270

Denomination is 25 Centimes
