The front pastedown bears a "Fanshaws" family book plate.
The book is from the collection of Constance Demain Saunders.*
The text block is tightly bound and in a good general condition.
There are varying levels of age toning (due mostly to the typical French paper stock of the period).
Virtually nil foxing.
The half leather bindings are a little chipped at the corners with some rubbing to the edges.
The joints are firm.
There is some feathering to the spine ends
*Fanshaws in Hertford is a large house built by Constances father, Henry Wilson Demain Saunders, around 1885. The house is now the property of the Institute of the motor industry.
