Star Wars Evolution 2016 was Topps’ re-launch of its Evolution series from the early 2000s. The set takes collectors through the “evolution” of characters and vehicles through the history of the Star Wars universe.

Each character had multiple base cards with each card showcasing dual images of the character appearance as they appeared in a particular movie/tv show. When viewed together as a set, the sequential cards show a great progression of the character.

The cards are slightly thicker than the standard card stock with a full holofoil front and matte back.

This release was available as a hobby market exclusive. This means that it was only available in card and hobby stores.

Base Cards and Parallels

There are 100 base cards with 4 variant parallel (not including printing plates).

• Blue (1 per 2 packs, no numbering)
• Purple (1 per 12 packs, no numbering)
• Gold (# to 50)
• Red (1/1)

Insert sub-sets

5 insert subsets and 1 short print set were available to chase (listed below) and were pack inserted at varied odds.  The inserts had printing plates and the short-print cards had an announced print run of 100.

Premium Hits

2 premium hits were guaranteed in each box of Star Wars Evolution 2016. The hits included Manufactured Flag Patches, Autographs, Sketches and Printing Plates.

Manufactured Commemorative Flag Patch cards had a small patch that had a faction symbol and a character that belonged to that faction. A total of 56 cards were available to collect. The base version of these patch cards were numbered to 170 and 4 colour variants were also available (Silver - # to 50, Gold - # to 25, Platinum – 1/1). 8 dual-patch booklets were also available (no variants) to collect.

Autographed cards in Evolution 2016 consisted of 86 single-signer cards, 7 dual-signature, 4 triple-signature, 1 quad-signature and 8 patch signature cards. Only 70 of the single-signer cards had base versions of the card. The remaining 16 had only variant versions available. Autograph variant colours were Purple (# to 25), Gold (# to 10), Red (1/1) and Printing Plates. The multiple-signer cards only had one version and were low numbered (3-5 cards). All autographs were sticker autographs.

Sketch cards were drawn by 42 popular sketch card artists. Artist numbers were not released by Topps.

Printing Plates rounded off the premium hits with plates available for the base cards, autographs and insert cards.

• Item(s) will be packaged securely to prevent damage.
• Returns are accepted under certain conditions (ie not as described, etc). Buyer pays return shipping and the item must be in the same condition as it was shipped.
