Dear WORKBASKET Reader:
In this issue, we have reinstated the quilt feature. We had an overwhelming response to our state quilt articles. When they were completed, readers were disappointed when they didn’t find additional patterns. These requests have prompted us to plan publishing three quilt patterns a year. Although these patterns have been revived from the 1940s, we have updated the instructions to fit today’s fabrics and stitching techniques. In most cases, pattern pieces wifi be given in actual size along with an artist’s rendition of the finished quilt block.
The first quilt in this series is The Double Irish Chain, which is quite appropriate for the March issue; then in May, look for the Rose Point quilt, an ideal choice for a spring project.
