The First National Bank, Meeteetse, Wyo. - 1916 Certificate of Deposit

Certificate of Deposit from The First National Bank of Meeteetse, Wyoming, dated November 20, 1916, for $10.00 to the order of Sarah Whitney. The date was stamped onto the check in violet ink with a date stamp.

The certificate states, "Sarah Whitney has deposited in this Bank / Ten Dollars / in current funds / Payable to the order of herself / on return of this Certificate properly endorsed Twelve months after date with / interest at 6 percent per annum. No interest after maturity. / Not subject to check” Signed by Angus J Mcoonaly, Prest. Cashr.

Above the check number is written "1000/65"

Perforated sideways as "Paid / 12 • 24 • 17" The certificate was cut with "$10 ✡" in the upper left quadrant of the certificate.

Endorsed on the back in black ink "Sarah Whitney by Mrs. F. A. Whitney."

Printed on the front of the certificate is a background of scalloped rays and ribbons with the words, "First National Bank of Meeteetse". In the center is a circle with the interwoven letters "F" "N" and "B"

Printed by "Stephens Litho. & Eng. Co., St. Louis."
