Red/Orange Amber
This piece is from East Java, Indonesia and, as well as being a nice specimen it would make great cutting material. It is called Red/Orange Amber although it is very dark unless held up against the light (or backlit). I have inclued a pic which shows the sort of look that one gets when it is backlit by a bright light (Note: this pic is not the specimen on offer although the colour is similar)
Amber is fossilized tree resin which frequently contains inclusions such as plant matter, fungi, and insects. This amber comes from Indonesia and is believed to have formed during the mid-late Miocene (10-20 Ma or older)
Pieces from this locality have a darkish green fluorescence under UV but it would not show in pics I tried to take
