Purple Botryoidal ("Grape Agate") Chalcedony: Gem-size TN Example; Indonesia

The term "botryoidal" refers to a resemblance to a cluster of grapes, and few minerals come closer to looking like a bunch of grapes than this chalcedony from a recent discovery in Indonesia. Some have even been mounted as-is in jewels. About 16.25 cts. A very pretty example, whether you keep as a specimen in your collection, or add it to your custom jewel design.

Photographs were taken under natural sunlight with the specimen dry. The piece comes mounted on removeable mineral tack in an acrylic specimen box.
