This listing is for a 1 pound bag of different sizes and shapes of Throw Beads and Specialty Mardi Gras Beads.  I create the random bag from a larger collection bag, but will try to include both Throw and Specialty in each lot.  Will weigh just under 1lb to ship first class to keep your costs low (Priority shipping is available if needed at checkout).  Great for any Mari Gras party or if youre headed to the big one in New Orleans!  Add multiple quanties to your cart as we combine shipping!

Beads are also a big part of Mardi Gras. People wear beads around their necks and throw them to others during the parade. Every year, the city of New Orleans hosts the annual Marchival, also known as Mardi Gras. Throughout history, these traditions have stood the test of time, ranging from flambeaux to the secret identities of the kings and queens of the kruwe. According to some sources, the holiday dates back to pagan Roman times, while others claim it arose as a result of the Catholic church’s ban on sex and meat during Lent. When the parade floats toss beads and trinkets to the crowd, it is known as throwing. The colors green, purple, and gold are associated with faith, justice, and power. Masks were first worn to allow wearers to mingle with anyone, regardless of class. In New Orleans, it is tradition to put beads on fences during Mardi Gras. This is done as a way to show support for the holiday, as well as to bring good luck. The beads also serve as a decoration, and can add to the festive atmosphere of the celebration. Mardi Gras refers to events of the Carnival celebration, beginning on or after the Christian feasts of the Epiphany and culminating on the day before Ash Wednesday, which is known as Shrove Tuesday. Mardi Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday", reflecting the practice of the last night of eating rich, fatty foods before the ritual Lenten sacrifices and fasting of the Lenten season.

5. Carriers - Primarily USPS, but will use UPS and/or FedEx if item requires or is a better fit for their networks.

6. Sellers are not responsible for service transit time. Transit times are provided by the carrier, exclude weekends and holidays, and may vary with package origin and destination and/or SERVICE LEVELS, particularly during peak (Holiday) periods. (Sellers have NO control over the CARRIERS)

7. Domestic (U.S.A.) Shipping - Domestic (all 50 states, U.S. territories, APO/FPO & P.O. Boxes) shipping rates are calculated based on package weight, size, & destination & costs (packaging, fees, time). We ship within 1 business day after cleared payment.

8. International (Worldwide) Shipping - If you are in a country that is eligible for the Global Shipping Program, per our agreement with , we must ship using the Global Shipping Program. Direct shipping costs are prohibitive to buyers. 

9. Shipping charges are not refundable under any circumstances, since FREE Returns are offered.
