Seller's Description

Wakefield product (International Silver) number 548. A most attractive side table serving dish. Candy and nuts come to mind. Or possibly a relish dish with the accompanying I.S. Deepsilver* (see note below) spoon. Both pieces are quite ornate! Tray measures 6" x 9 1/4" with only polishing scratches showing which is remarkable in that this dish is 50 years+ old. No dents or dings, either. The spoon is 5 7/8" in length with a 1 1/4" wide bowl. This would make a nice holiday gift for that family member or friend that seem to have everything.

Deepsilver is a type of silverplate manufactured by International Silver during the 1960s. Little blocks of sterling were placed on the pieces at points of wear, to reduce the effect of plating wear over time. This added to the useful life of the pieces. Although these pieces contain some sterling, they are not considered sterling.
