- Comments: Interested to see what the competitive world of Geography was like back in 1986? This will give you a snapshot of what the scene was like in the academic world. Some of the names here went on to be big names in industry or top civil servants. Several interesting advertisements e.g. companies offering travel for expeditions to far off destinations. Each paper mentioned has just a small paragraph for an abstract, but these brief summaries give you a good sense what they were talking about. A map of Reading and a University Campus map are provided. All text and images inside the cover are in monochrome. Are you a member of the Institute of British Geographers and collect past conference handbooks? - then this is for you. Also, might be useful for historians of Geography, or would make a nice memento for anyone who can remember attending this conference.
