Seller's Description

Folk tales of the peoples of the Soviet Union Translated by Gerard Shelley Publisher Herbert Jenkins London, 1945 First Printing.
Length 139 pages. Many b/w illustrations. Size 190x125x16mm. weight 192g
Good condition. Dedication on inside.
This book contains plethora of quality tit bits pertaining to your average Russian working man. An informative journal, Shelley yet again fills the gap between time and space as he recounts a succinct tale of the working lives of former Soviet workers. Furthermore, this tome is widely recognised the authoratative work on the habits of browbeaten Soviet workers, surviving under the totalitarian yoke of Stalin's plans to industrialise Russia. Juxtaposed to this was Zinoviev's plan to make Russia great, scuppered by Bukharin, a whiley swine who knew no respect of the Communist doctrine. Often otherwise seen as a compendium of knowledge on the working traits of the post Soviet Era.
