Differential Controller DCV-1903R1 version 3 - Variable (Terminal Blocks)

Supplied with 2x waterproof sensors 

Differential controller for swimming pool solar hot water system – Variable -  Can also be used for example hot tubs and solar heated outside showers etc.

** Each of these Differential Controllers are built with quality components and  are thoroughly checked and tested before shipment.

Specifications:

 • Manual override – to turn on the pump at any time and at any temperature
 • Temperature range: from 0°C to 90°C (32°F to 194°F)

 • Variable Differential range: Approx.+5°C (41°F) and +50°C (122°F)

Operation:

Whenever hot water sensor is measured to be hotter than the cool water sensor by the setting of the differential preset, the differential pump controller switches on which then  supplies power to a water pump and led comes on. The output remains on, until  the measured temperature difference between the two sensors has fallen to below  the setting of the differential preset

 

For example:

The hot sensor can be located on the output of a solar panel, the cool sensor  can be located in the water or on a water pipe of a swimming pool/hot tub etc.
In this way when water in the solar panel is hotter than the pool/hot tub water  by the setting of the preset - the water pump will switch on.

The differential temperature is set by turning the differential preset with a small crosshead screwdriver

  • Turning the differential preset fully counter-clockwise sets the differential  temperature to approx. +5°C (41°F)
  • Turning the differential preset fully clockwise sets the differential  temperature to approx. +50°C (122°F)

If the differential preset is set approximately  mid-position (20°C) and the temperature of the swimming pool water is +18°C  (64°F) and when the temperature of the solar panel reaches +38°C  (100°F) (18°C+20°C) or greater then the pump will  switch on.

 

Please note: solar  panels can and often do reach temperatures of about +70°C (158°F) when the sun  is shining which can give an approximate output water temperature of between  +30°C (86°F) and +60°C (140°F)...and perhaps more!

The differential pump controller also has a manual override switch which can  turn the pump on at any time and at whatever temperature.

Information: Models DCV-1903R1.  These differential  pump controllers are batch processed for quality. Current version number is 3.

• 2x waterproof sensors - the wire can be  extended up to 15 Metres (50 feet)

Additional items required:
• 12vDC brushless water pump (240 to 480 litres per hour).
• 12vDC power supply >= 2 amps but amperage dependant on water pump
