Under the pseudonym Laurence Desberry, the Austrian author Hermynia Zur Muhlen, Countess Hermin de Crenneville Poutet (1883-1951) published her adventurous fiction novels in the 1920s. Desbury's popular novels in Europe and America were also published in the USSR: EMC (Elector of Youth and Excellence) (1926), Blue Beam (1927), Immortal (1927), and others.
