Seller's Description
1925 was the year Columbia switched from the old method of acoustically recorded pressings to the new electric recording process licensed from Western Electric. This company has a long history, dating back to 1888, and was one of the "Big Three" in recording companies, competing with Edison and Victor. They remain the oldest continually used brand name in recorded sound, now owned by Sony Music since 1988.
Offered here are a pair of Slovak Polkas from the 1930's. In fairly decent condition with generally clean sides, despite some label wear. Normal scuffs and light scratches exist and you should expect some background hiss and pop, but there's a pretty good sound to be heard! No cracks, skips or chips.
Side 58903 presents "V Lesie". Side 58895 offers, "Smiecn". Both are performed by The Columbia Orcestra.
