Seller's Description
1925 was the year Columbia switched from the old method of acoustically recorded pressings to the new electric recording process licensed from Western Electric. This company has a long history, dating back to 1888, and was one of the "Big Three" in recording companies, competing with Edison and Victor. They remain the oldest continually used brand name in recorded sound, now owned by Sony Music since 1988.
Offered here is a circa 1910, acoustically pressed, pair of band recordings. A Grand Prize Label in excellent condition, with no skips, cracks or chips. Only light scuffs and scratch marks for a mostly clear audio! Side 5811 presents "Lindas Mexicanas", a march played by the Banda de Policia. Side 26393 offers, "The Motor Car Galop", from the Royal Regimental Band.
